Playground Eagle Project
About 4 1/2 years ago, Brance Jones watched seven Boy Scouts (in yellow hardhats in the photo) do something many adults thought could never be done. They raised more than $120,000 in five months and brought more than 1,500 community volunteers together to build this playground in Fruit Heights in five days. It was the third of its kind in Utah. The Scouts each chaired a building committee for their Eagle projects. Now Brance is 16 and wants to build a playground in Washington Fields for his own Eagle project. He needs nine other youths who want participate in this challenging but rewarding project as committee chairs. Each youth needs a handful of confident adults who are committed to the project and its success. Those interested can request an application and specific committee information by e-mailing bonni5jones@wavepointmail.com.
