Exchange Club Announces Students of the Month

The St. George Exchange Club honored Students of the Month for January and February at a recent club meeting at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in St. George. Students of the Month from each area high school are selected for their academic accomplishments.
January Students of the Month
Whitney Langston is ACE Student of the Month from Millcreek High School and is the daughter of Reed and Marie Langston. Whitney has a 4.0 GPA and enjoys doing service projects at her school. Her favorite subject is history. She is active in her church and enjoys helping others and working at her job. She would like to attend a university and obtain a degree in counseling teens and young adults. Her biggest thrill in life so far is getting a second chance with school and being able to hold down a full-time job, help her parents, and still spend time with her friends.
Damien Knudson is the Student of the Month from Dixie High School and is the son of Susan Williams. He holds a 3.98 GPA and is active in the science Olympiad, HOSA and National Honor Society. He enjoys sciences at school, health science and especially biology. His activities in the community include Scouting, in which he is working on his Eagle Award, and the Venture Program. He hopes to become a cardiac surgeon after attending either BYU or U of U. His biggest thrill in life so far is a recent trip to California.
Whitney Dunlop is the Student of the Month from Snow Canyon High School and is the daughter of Dana Lindley. She has a 4.0 GPA and is active in basketball, softball, and the National Honors Society. She enjoys science class at school and is active in the Kiwanis Club, RASK and Relay for Life. Her goal is to become a veterinarian and study at UVSC. Her biggest thrill is being a member of her school's basketball team.
Corrine J. Daniel is the Student of the Month from Tuacahn High School and is the daughter of Scott and Kimberly Daniel. Corrine has a 3.67 GPA and is active in dance and musical theater at school. Her favorite subjects are mythology, dance, and seminary. She enjoys performing at the Tabernacle when she has the opportunity and hopes to go into photography after attending Weber State college.
Drew Van Orden is the Student of the Month from Pine View High School and is the son of Scott and Becky Van Orden. Drew has a 3.85 GPA and is active in golf and baseball at his school. He enjoys his math classes and doing service projects throughout the community. After going on an LDS mission, he hopes to become a pharmacist. His biggest thrill so far is playing in high school sports.
February Students of the Month
Jacob Huskinson is the Student of the Month from Tuacahn High School and is the son of James Huskinson. Jacob has a 3.2 GPA and is very active in school plays, madrigal concerts and Shakespearean competitions. He enjoys methodology class at school and is active in the St. George Musical Theatre. His future goals are to receive his Eagle Scout Award and go on an LDS mission. His biggest thrill is right before a play opens and the cast is together. He says the bond between cast members is so unique that it creates a brotherhood that is unbelievable.
Kristal Kay Chamberlain is the Student of the Month from Pine View High School and is the daughter of Cary and Shannon Chamberlain. Kristal has a 4.0 GPA and is active in madrigal choir and Honor Society. She enjoys her English class and participates in community service, helping with Veterans Day, Thank-you Project and Children's Christmas Carnival. Kristal hopes to attend BYU as a pre-med student, stay involved in community activities and be happy. Her biggest thrill so far is a tie between riding the California Screamer and singing the solo at the Madrigal Jazz Competition!
Nicolas Bradford Wulfenstein is the ACE Student of the Month from Millcreek High School and is the son of Victoria Stiles. He has a 2.9 GPA and enjoys math and science in school, with his favorite subject being math. Nick would like to attend Dixie College or Weber State and study to become an X-ray technician. His biggest thrill was to go to California and see the ocean.
Note: 2008 February Student of the Month honorees from Snow Canyon High School and Dixie High School were unavailable and will be recognized in March with the 2008 March honorees.
