Audrey Sabina Wood Bryan
Audrey Sabina Wood Bryan, age 86, passed away on Feb. 11, 2008 in St. George, Utah. She was born on April 7, 1921 in Cedar City, Utah to George Albert and Sabina Jochum Wood.
She married Stanley R. Bryan on April 15, 1941, in Cedar City, Utah, at the Rock Church. While growing up, she went with her father as he built the original lodges at Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon and Cedar Breaks.
She began first grade at the North Rim of Grand Canyon and concluded her education at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake, where she talked with President Heber J. Grant daily on her way to school.
She assisted her father in the curing of the red cedar used in the construction of the Rock Church.
Audrey worked for First Security Bank for 26 years, serving as a bookkeeper, a teller and Operations Manager. She loved playing softball, bowling, fishing and going hunting with her family. She was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Ed) Severance of Las Vegas, Nev., four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Rock Church, 75 E. Center St. in Cedar City, Utah. A visitation was Saturday, Feb. 16 before the services. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
