Marriage Hall-of-Famers
Orwin and Velda Leany Gubler will receive the Golden Years Award from the Washington Country Marriage Coalition’s annual Marriage Celebration, Friday, Feb. 8, at the Eccles Center. Orwin was born and raised in Santa Clara, and Velda, in St. George. Introduced to each other by friends, the couple has been married for 59 years. A ranching and farming family active in the Farm Bureu, Orwin and Velda have supported each other over the years and served the community and the LDS church in a variety of capacities. The trust, respect and honor they have for each other is obvious. They are loved by many and are very special. Orwin and Velda have six children: Galen (who passed away at age 3), Scott, Brenda, Blaine, Mark and Gina.
