Teacher of Excellence
Mary Emett has been chosen as one of 10 recipients statewide to receive the Excellence in Teaching Award during the upcoming UEA Convention. Mary has been an educator for 16 years. She has lots of enthusiasm and the desire to help children succeed. She spends countless hours developing curriculum to fit the ever-changing needs of today’s diverse classroom. Mary is innovative and dedicated to her students. She is currently teaching sixth grade science at Fossil Ridge Intermediate School in St. George, where she also serves as the science department head. For Mary’s outstanding teaching, she will be awarded a $1,500 check at a banquet in Salt Lake City.
