Robert Estridge
Robert Estridge, age 77, passed away on Sunday morning, Sept. 23, 2007. He was born June 6, 1930 in Oswego, N.Y. to John Francis Estridge and Elsie Beatrice Murray.
He married Francis Mares in Inglewood, Calif. He later married Margaret Monson in Torrance Calif. and was officially sealed to her in the Saint George LDS Temple after her death. He then married Lillian Prince on Nov. 3, 2000 in Hurricane, Utah.
Robert grew up in Oswego, N.Y. He graduated from high school in New York and at 17 years of age then moved to California with brother Frances after his mother died.
At 19 years of age he joined the Army and was shipped off to Korea after his training. After being wounded in battle, he was shipped back stateside.
Robert worked as a manager for Sav-on drug store in the California area. His hobbies were ventriloquist, collecting clocks and clown figurines. Robert was always joking and kidding with people and brought out the best in them. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his sister, Edna Shirley (Estridge) Tyler of Fulton, N.Y.; his son, Michael Estridge of Cypress, Calif.; daughters, Patricia Humphrey of Palo Verdes, Calif., Virginia Shaffer of Victorville, Calif.; nephew, Gary F. Forsyth of Clinton, N.J.; and niece, Barbara Jean Arras of Fulton, N.Y.
He is preceded by his parents, Francis Estridge and Elsie Beatrice, his two brothers Arthur Daniel and John Francis Estridge, and two sisters Darlene Barbasso and Mary McManus and his wives.
Services were Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Sky Mountain Chapel, 452 N. 2600 West, Hurricane. A viewing was before the services at the church. Interment took place Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Hurricane City Cemetery, Hurricane, Utah.
