Setting Sail for Leadership
The student councils from Riverside, Washington, Horizon, Sandstone and Bloomington Hills Elementary met together on Wednesday Sept. 26, 2007, to receive training on how to be great student leaders.
The theme for the day was "Sail into Service." The crew boarded the "LeaderSHIP" and set sail. Max Rose and Rex Wilkey, of the Washington County School District, spoke to the group. Rose did his famous magic fire trick and encouraged the students to be enthusiastic. Wilkey shared how to be outgoing and helpful. The student body leaders from Pine View High School taught them how to brainstorm and problem solve. The day was filled with fun team-building activities and learning.
