Coldwater Creek, a national women’s apparel, jewelry, gifts and accessories retailer that touts “fashion and social responsibility” opened a new store at the Red Cliffs mall on Monday, Oct. 1.
The store is part of Red Cliffs Mall’s new open-air streetscape.
Inside the 5,700-square-foot store, slate and soft wood accents combine with ambient lighting and a signature “wall of water” to create a relaxed, tranquil setting. The atmosphere was designed to provide an environment where customers can get away from daily routines and shop in a stress-free setting.
“The customers are … blown away by our store,” store manager Debra Johnson said. “They are thrilled we are here.”
Coldwater Creek, based in Sandpoint, Idaho, chose St. George for its latest retail store because it has a strong customer base in the area, according to a company statement.
The new store offers styles for every occasion in misses, petites and women’s sizes, and fit and fashion expertise. Customers can also access the Coldwater Creek Web site right in the store to help them find exactly what they want.
To help celebrate their new addition to their retail stores, customers at the St. George location can take home a “classic fashion watch” with a value of $59 with a purchase of $100 or more of store merchandise, while supplies last. Shoppers will also receive $30 off any $100 purchase.
The natural setting of the store reflects Coldwater Creek’s social responsibility, stated information from the company.
Coldwater Creek continues its support in the fight against breast cancer as a third-year National Sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series. To date, according to a company statement, Coldwater Creek has donated $2.9 million to the group in support of their vision of a world without breast cancer.
Retail stores across the country participate in fundraising events to benefit their local Komen Affiliates, and the new Coldwater Creek store will support the St. George-area Race for the Cure.
Coldwater Creek also embraces its role as a steward of the environment. According to company information, Coldwater Creek is now the largest purchaser of renewable energy in the apparel industry, powering 100 percent of their U.S. operations with wind-energy certificates. Every kilowatt hour of energy used by the company – from its corporate offices, call centers, distribution center and retail stores – is provided directly by renewable “green” power or purchased from green-power energy suppliers to offset its electricity use for its corporate operations.
According to information from Coldwater Creek, the company embraces the three R’s: Reduce, reuse and recycle. At all the company’s locations, employees are encouraged to reduce their paper consumption and recycle paper, aluminum, glass, toner cartridges, cell phones, tech waste and fluorescent lights.
Two years ago, the company began using boxes from vendors to ship merchandise to their retail stores, and close to 98 percent of incoming boxes are reused.
“There’s always something extra going on at our stores,” Coldwater Creek says.
St. George customers will find just that, from exclusive styles and personal service to candles, whimsical sculptures and comfy throws and pillows.
Coldwater Creek will celebrate its grand opening at the Red Cliffs Mall in St. George on Monday, Oct. 1. Store hours are Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.coldwatercreek.com.
