Verda Duncan DeMille
Verda Duncan DeMille of La Verkin, Utah, died Sept. 20, 2007, at age 87. She died in Lander, Fremont, Wyo. Verda has lived in Lander since September 2000, with her daughter Evelyn Irene.
Verda was born Oct. 9, 1920, in St. George, Washington, Utah to John Wallace Duncan and Matilda Jane Denning.
She married Sheldon Sullivan DeMille, March 24, 1936 in Parowan, Iron County, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized March 14, 1959 in the St. George Temple. Verda was the youngest of nine siblings, all who proceeded her in death.
She lived in La Verkin most all her life. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was always cheerful and a pleasant caring person.
She is survived by her children Gary DuRell and Beverly DeMille or La Verkin, Farrell Sullivan and Carolyn DeMille of Cedar City, Evelyn and John Irene, of Lander, Wyo., VerDon and Monte Smith, of Middleton, Idaho.
Services will be Sept. 29, at the La Verkin Stake Center, 481 N. Main St. at 11 a.m. A viewing will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Internment will be in the La Verkin City Cemetery. Arrangements were made through Metcalf Mortuary, St. George
