Robert Carlson
Robert Carlson, 77, passed away of a lingering illness on Aug. 20, 2007, in the Hurricane (Utah) rehab center. He suffered a stroke in 1998 and another stroke in December 2006.
Robert was born on Sept. 6, 1929, in Arlington, Wash., to Henry and Dinah Carlson. Robert was a logger in their family business for many years in his youth. He was a fisherman’s guide on the Snake River in Washington.
He became a private pilot at age 18 and later became a bush pilot in Alaska. He spent the remainder of his working years as a commercial fisherman in the Aleutians, Alaska, on the Bering Sea. He retired to Hawaii, from where he and his wife, Roslyn, traveled the U.S.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Donald. Robert leaves his loving wife, Roslyn; one son, Richard, of Arlington, Wash.; three stepchildren, Steve (VJ) Belew, of Las Vegas, Brad (Jane) Belew, of Canton, Ohio, and Peggy Likua, of Mesquite, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was Aug. 21 at Grace Baptist Church in Washington City by Pastor Rick Newell and his wife, Christi Newell.
Robert will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Our Heavenly Father has him now, and he is at peace.
