Irene Heap Bryant
Irene Heap Bryant, 90, returned home to our Father in Heaven Sunday, July 22, 2007 in Cedar City, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Spry, Utah, to Lillian Sarah Lowe and Lellon Burick Heap. She married Odell (Curly) Bryant on Feb. 3, 1934.
She loved her family very much.  She was very proud to tell how many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren she had.
Irene was active in the LDS Church. She was a primary teacher for many years, including a few years teaching at the Indian Branch. Later, she was sealed to Odell in the St. George LDS Temple.
She was a great seamstress, crocheter and quilter.  She loved to garden and work in her yard pulling weeds and caring for her roses.
She is survived by her children: Dawna (Burnell) Isom of Cedar City; Garth (Dianne) Bryant of Cedar City; Linda (Pat) Goble of Kanab; Patsy (Mel) Lee of St. George; and Pam (Russell) Batt of Cedar City; as well as 22 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lowes Jean (Clair) Eastman of West Valley, Utah; and her two brothers, Theran (Anita) Heap of Cedar City and Larry George (Carol) Heap of North Highland, Calif.
Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Curly Bryant; one son, Terry Bryant; two son-in-laws, Pat Goble and Burnell Isom; two grandsons, Scott Goble and Kendall Bryant; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will take place at noon Friday, July 27, 2007, at the 14th Ward LDS Chapel, 500 W. 400 North, Cedar City. A viewing will take place Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary and again Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the 14th Ward LDS Chapel.
