Carma Haight Dobson
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, our beautiful blue-eyed wife, mother and grandmother, Carma Haight Dobson, passed from this life into the next. She was born Sept. 22, 1923 in Cedar City, Utah to loving parents, Orson and Adrean Haight. She grew up with three sisters, Nevada, Audrey and LaRae.
On Oct. 10, 1942 she married Evan Dobson in Yakima Wash. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She was blessed with three children, Trudy, Diane and Ronald.
Carma grew up and attended schools in Cedar City graduating with the last class that graduated from BAC. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in many school musical productions.
After graduation she traveled to Yakima, Wash. to marry her sweetheart who was stationed there with the Army. When Evan was sent to Germany she returned to Cedar and was employed by Mountain Bell. She quit working to raise her three children but later returned to work for Mountain Bell, retiring in 1980.
She was active in the LDS church and held many positions throughout her life. She had a great love for children and her favorite callings in the church were those she held in Primary and Young Women's. Music was a big part of her life as she lead the singing in many organizations of the church as well as sang in the Messiah, Rainbow Chorus, Singing Mothers, and at many church and civic functions.
She loved Cedar City and enjoyed being involved in civic organizations. She served on the PTA, Lady Lions, 4-H, Shakespearean Festival, and on the Sterling Scholars Board.
She loved and cherished her family above all else and was the best wife, mother and grandmother that anyone could possibly be. She loved her three sisters dearly and stayed close to them throughout her life.
She had many wonderful friends that filled her life with beauty and love which she also cherished. Her love was unconditional to all she knew and her positive attitude made her a joy to be around. We will miss her very much but know that she is at peace now.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses who have helped her these 22 years in her battle with cancer. Dr. Stultz, Dr. McMahill, Dr. Mckwen, Dr. Te and especially Dr. Richards and staff, you have helped her remain happy and positive throughout her ordeal and we appreciate you very much.  We would also like to thank Marie Prince and staff for making her last few months at home comfortable and pleasant.
She is survived by her husband, Evan and her three children, Trudy (Jim) Arrendale of Las Vegas, Diane (Bruce) Holmes and Ronald Dobson of Cedar City, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, sister LaRae (LC) Miles of Salt Lake, brother-in-law Verl Jacob as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is proceeded in death by her parents and sisters Audrey Jacob, Nevada Stewart and husband Arlo Stewart.
There were viewings Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21. Services were Saturday, July 20, 2007 at the 17th Ward Chapel, 256 S. 900 West, Cedar City, Utah. Graveside services and interment were at the Cedar City, Utah Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to www.southernutahmortuary.com.
