Carol Lytle, of St. George, passed away June 21, 2007, at the St. George Care Center, holding hands with her husband of 34 years, Timothy Lytle. She succumbed to the debilitating effects of several diabetes-related illnesses over the course of several years. She is in a better place.
Born on Oct. 10, 1947, to Edward Herman Stephens and Alma Sofie Fiske, in the state of Washington, Carol lived in New Mexico before moving to Veyo, Utah, and finally settling in Enterprise, where she met and married Tim Lytle on March 12, 1973.
Even before having her own children, she nurtured plants and raised animals. She especially loved birds. Her other passions were poetry, Willie Nelson songs, jokes and storytelling.
She is preceded in death by a son, James Timothy, and her parents, Ed and Alma Stephens. She is survived by husband Tim Lytle; sons Phillip and Samuel Levi; daughter Emily LaDawn; 10 grandchildren: Kyanna, Karen, Khalil, Kaden, Sam, Hannah, Patrick, Cassy, Ivy and Orion; brothers Gary and Eddie; and sisters Patty, Cindy and Connie.
The family would like to offer sincere gratitude to the doctors, staff and volunteers at the St. George Care Center, Dixie Regional Hospital and Dixie Dialysis for the unwavering care and effort given to such a faithful wife, caring mother and loving sister during her final years.
Services were Tuesday, June 26, at the Metcalf Mortuary in St. George. Interment is at the Veyo Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, 673-4221. Condolences may be sent to the family through the Metcalf Web site at www.metcalfmortuary.com.
