Char Mitchell
On June 23, 2007, Charlotte Burns Mitchell passed quietly into the arms of our Heavenly Father. She died at home and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Her death of natural causes was unexpected and felt by all who knew her.
Char was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on July 2, 1938.  Char was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. Burns and Kathryn V. Burns, her soulmate and loving husband Ron Mitchell and her daughter "KK the Cop", Kimberlee Brown.
Char is survived by her daughter Tarri K. Madlung-Sergi, son-in-law Rick Brown, her grandchildren Tristin Nimmo, Kendall Woodland, Donny Madlung, Kristin Woodland and Susan Madlung. Char is also survived by her first great-grandson Tyson "tater bug" Woodland. Honorable mentions in her extended family are Joseph Grohman (cousin), R.J. Grohman, (Joe's son), Louisse Terwilleger (cousin) and Rhonda Mitchell Taylor (step-daughter).
Char was loved by all who knew her.  She was outspoken when needed, compassionate in times of sorrow, and always listened when her family and friends needed her most. Char was always willing to go the extra mile for those in need.
Even though she was not a member of the church, she participated in many projects and committees associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Char saw humor in life's tragedies and that was her special gift. She had the ability to make those individuals whose lives had been touched by pain and sorrow, laugh again.
Char began her career as a nurse in the early 60s. By taking night classes, she was able to advance in her chosen profession to an Honorary Degree in both nursing and medical research at Mt. Sinai Research Medical Center in Miami, Florida.
She moved to Southern California with her daughter in her mid-30s where she met the love of her life, Ron Mitchell. Upon retirement, Ron and Char moved to Parogonah, where they lived until the end of their days.
They will now lay side by side in the Paragonah Cemetery and will be smiling and laughing as they travel to Heaven together again. Char will be missed by all who knew her.
The Paragonah Ward, in honor of all she has done for their community has graciously opened its doors to allow services for her passing to be held there. A viewing was Wednesday, June 27. Another viewing will be Thursday between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, Char has requested that a donation be made to the Paragonah Civic Committee. Services are under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
Rest in peace Mom, for you will be missed by all who knew you.
