Mary Caroline Livermore McMahan
Our beautiful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, Mary McMahan, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her loving family on March 15, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born Jan. 21, 1946 in Cedar City, Utah to Ernest F. and Iona Williams Livermore.
She was raised by her father, Melville and her mother, Iona W. Adam. She was married to Larry McMahan of Las Vegas. They were blessed with two sons, Douglas and David, and four beautiful grandchildren.
Mary grew up in Cedar City. She graduated from Cedar City High School and went on to graduate from the college of cosmetology in Las Vegas. During her career, she developed close and dear friendships with many co-workers and patrons.
Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully. She had a great exuberance for life's simple and precious pleasures. Her kind heart offered all she had to her children and grandchildren.
Her sense of humor and wit were notorious and never lost their edge. She was artistically talented and a beautiful dancer. Mary's greatest joy was being with her family.
She fought valiantly against brain cancer. Through all of the pain and hardships, she managed to greet everyone with her beautiful smile . . . a smile her family will sorely miss.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Douglas (Annie) McMahan and David McMahan of Las Vegas; her mother, Iona Adam; sisters, Pat (Dave) Hatch , Dawnell Adam Pace, Janet Adam; brothers, Fred (Christine) Adam, Gary (Suanna) Adam, Don (Joy) Adam, Stephen (Sherie) Adam, Jim Adam; her four grandchildren, Nicholas, Evan, Gage, and Kaylee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melville G. Adam. We will all greatly miss her and feel privileged to have shared our lives with her.
Services were Saturday, March 24, 2007 in the Kanarraville LDS Ward Chapel, Main Street, Kanarraville, Utah.
Friends and family called before the services at the church. Interment was in the Kanarraville Cemetery. On-line condolences can be sent through the Web site www.southernutahmortuary.com.
