Emily Stevens Quinn, 91, died March 9, 2007, in St. George, Utah. She was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Cedar City, Utah, to Charles Franklin Stevens Jr. and Aurelia Spencer.
She was married to Samuel Lewis Hoover and had a daughter, Nancy. They later divorced. She then married Ellison Kirby Pickens. They had a son, Gregory, and later divorced. She then married Robroy Quinn in 1963, and he preceded her in death, December 22, 1991.
Emily lived in Cedar City, Hurricane and Roy, Utah, Colton and Grand Terrace, Calif., and St. George. She was a very creative person and enjoyed sewing, was a puppeteer, and loved providing puppet shows for children. She spent many loving hours out in her garden and was very health conscious.
Emily was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Russon, of LaQuinta, Calif.; her son, Gregory S. (Teresa) Pickens, of St. George; stepson, Jerry (Lisbeth) Quinn, of Wrightwood, Calif.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Marlene Fawcett.
A special thank you to the Meadows, Zions Way Hospice, and Bernie Laub of the Irish Cottage who lovingly cared for Emily in her final days and to all her friends who lovingly gave their time and concern.
Services were March 17 at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, St. George. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-422.
